John R. Groves, MD, FACS

Dr. Groves was born and raised in Kentucky. During college he came to Alabama to play football for Bear Bryant during his final season with the Crimson Tide. After this he returned to the University of Kentucky to finish out his undergraduate degree while playing football for the Wildcats. Dr. Groves went to medical school at the University of Louisville and then finished his medical training in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Groves moved to Albertville 8 years ago and started his surgical practice. After 6 years of growth in his practice and coming to call Marshall County home, Dr. Groves brought in Dr. Stephen Britt to continue forward and expand Surgical Associates of Marshall County and strive to provide a new excellence in surgical care for Marshall County and the surrounding areas. 

Dr. Stephen L. Britt, MD, FACS

Dr. Britt was born and raised in Tennessee. He completed his undergraduate education at East Tennessee State University before moving on to the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University for medical school. Dr. Britt continued his surgical training in Chattanooga before coming to Marshall County in 2003. Dr. Britt was a perfect fit for Surgical Associates of Marshall County because of his firm belief in staying on top of new technologies and procedures to provide the most advanced surgical care while keeping the "small town" feel to the practice.

Dr. Groves and Dr. Britt are both board certified surgeons.

Dr. Groves sees patients primarily out of our Albertville location while continuing to see patients in Guntersville and Arab as secondary office locations.

Dr. Britt see his patients primarily out of the Guntersville office while continuing to see patients in our Albertville location as needed.

Dr. Groves and Dr. Britt have expanded their practice tremendously in the last few years. With the addition of in-office surgical suites and the opening of Isis Medispa they continue to bring new technologies and fresh ideas to Marshall County and the surrounding areas.
